Hey, good people!

I am now in Israel and was supposed to go diving to Eilat this coming weekend with my local friend being my dive buddy and my guide. Unfortunately, he cannot make it. Is it easy to pair up with someone directly in Eilat? Would local clubs generally be able to match me with another diver? Is there anyone on this forum who will be diving in Eilat this weekend (18-19 July)?

Thanks a lot,

Ilya

Go to any of the dive shops at Har Migdolar, I recommend Manta, and they will get you hooked up with a buddy. If you go to Manta tell them I siad "boker tov".

hi,
i am going to eilat on thursday evening, after work. I plan to get there around midnight (leaving from Tel Aviv). I will be in Marina Divers).
if you are interested, drop me a message and i will give you my phone number.

on the other hand, you can go to any big dive club (Marina Divers, Manta, Aqua Sport, Manta, Divers Village,...) and you can find some there in order not to dive alone (it is forbiden by israeli law).

If this is your first time in Eilat, don't forget your logbook (in order to show that you dived in last six months, so you don't need a refresh dive), your c-card and insurance (that you can also buy on the spot).

Hey

U can go into any of the dive centers in Eilat and they can find u a buddy. Or u can take a guided with one of them. recomend the Marina Divers, Aqua Sport, Manta. All of them r located in Hof Almog ( coral cost) 10 minutes drive south 2 Eilat. In the city itself there is nothing 2 see.

enjoy

hi nemenman,
how was your dive in eilat? did you see one of the whale sharks? two are seen often (3-4 meters and the second around 6m long)?

i hope you had a good time.

Hi, dvas!

The diving in Eilat was marvelous. But then I went across the border to Sinai, and that was simply fantastic. No whale sharks, but four 2-meter eagle rays, and a school of tuna that made the water look boiling is almost as good :) Also the first time I was able to swim inside a barracudda school, really amazing!

But the nicest experience was the people, who, barely knowing me, went far out of their way to help me make this a beautiful weekend! Thanks a lot to you, dvas, and to all the others!

Thanks,

Ilya
