Seafood..... caribean lobster, buffalo shrimp, crabs, conch fritters, fried clams :) I eat a ton after diving but hell usually areas with good diving = awesome seafood!

You know, I was just wondering about this subject. I went diving on Sunday and I got cold. I NEVER get cold.

Also, I have been watching what I eat for a few months now and eat every 3 hours or so and find that I just don't get hungry.

After Sunday's dives, I had to go to the grocery store and found that I had an (almost) irrisistable urge to eat and eat a lot. I resisted the urge but it was almost as if I was possessed. Perhaps dehydration combined with the feeling of being cold messed with my brain, because I didn't feel hungry.

Glad. I am not only one who eats more after a dive.... ;)

I know, two dives per week can't be counted as a regular exercise though...

Anyway, there are many good tips that I can hear.

I just come back to the gym after a swimming and am only drinking a water.... Let's see how it goes. My goal is to lose another 8 lb and get in shape. I might strat a TaeKwon Do again.... ;)

For me, it really depends on how cold I am, and how quickly I get to the food. If I'm cold and the food is hot and nearby, I overeat. If I'm not cold, or I have to wait a while (and warm up) before food is served, I have much better control. Some primeval part of my brain thinks food will make me warmer. An awful lot of creamy clam chowder has gone down the hatch since I started diving . . .

Ew, not the creamy stuff. Red chowder rules!!! :D

I seem to incubate my hunger, even in cold water. An hour or two after the dive, boom! I'm ready to eat!

I'd say I have more hunger after the dive.

Diving makes me so hungry, I'm ready to eat anything that doesn't run faster than me! It has to be a heat loss thing, since all water sports tend to make me hungry. Swimming is definitely not my exercise for weight loss, due to the increase in appetite. On the other hand, the heat loss does seem to burn calories. On dive trips I have eaten almost everything they put in front of me and never gained an ounce, which is so not my usual tendency.

It's not just diving. It's the water. When my family goes out on the boat for the day, everyone gets hungry. So we just always pack crackers and cheese and fruit and lots of drinks when we go boating. Funny. There's an article in my boating mag about boats and snacks this month. I need to go reed it.
