I just don't log dives
Just got myself an easy up for winter diving and I want to make weights for it.

I'm thinking 4 inch pvc cap off one end and insert a bolt to attach ropes too.

I did some calculations but I'm not sure if I messed something up. A four inch pipe 2 feet long filled with cement based on my calculations would weigh over 100 pounds. this doesn't sound right to me. Did I mess up?

Anyone else made these things?

I have never made one but maybe this will help...

Assuming 4" Inner diameter, Radius is 2/12 = 0.17 feet.

Volume of cement = Cross sectional area of pipe * Length of pipe.
= 3.14159*0.17*0.17 * 2 = 0.18 cuft

Depending on what you use for density of cement mortar, I have no idea but Googled it at 135 lbs/cuft

So, 0.18 * 135 = 24 pounds (approx)

What is an "Easy Up?" TIA

EZ-Up is the Kleenex of pop-up canopies.
