I had to do a double take, thinking that was a Banded Sea Snake! But is in fact an eel or fish, correct? Sea Snakes are true reptiles and do not have that long dorsal fin like the eels or fish, but a flat paddle like tail.

So by mimicking a Banded Sea Snake that eel(?) is able to hunt during the day, without the worry of predators? Any marine bio. folks out there?

No idea but nice snake/eel.
First pic's not bad neither

Yes, f4nikon is correct. On a recent trip to Fiji we saw both sea snakes and eels mimicing them. That's likely Leiuranus semicinctus, the saddled snake eel in the photograph. There are several very similar appearing snake eels that mimic the actual reptiles.
