Great as always Nick...How are ya doin? everything OK for you and yours?

Lisa, thanks and good to hear from you. My wife and daughter finally came back a week ago after the US Embassy deemed it safe enough. Makes me one happy camper :) !!! The situation is still a bit tense with protesting groups cropping up from time to time.

Regardless, we went diving under the watchfull eye of a Malaysian troop encampment where a number of tents and 4 huge armored personnel carriers were the backdrop to our shore entry. Talk about SECURITY!!

Hey, I checked out your dive log for pics of recent dives and all of July is empty. What's up with that?

I haven't been getting in the water with a camera :(...we have been having dive guests of our own and tend not to pay attention to them if I have a camera. Might have a day for me coming up next week  thanks for asking
(I am posting some pics from our trip to the field museum last week in the members gallery thread )

Great pixs, Nick & it's good to see you back in action!

Ed.

Nick,
Thanks for the update about Timor...I am headed there in September for about 8 days of diving with Mark at dive Timor...your pics are of a lot of great small stuff...I was told good chance to see Whales...plus great areas for big stuff, Mantas, Sharks...schooling Travellys etc.

Any dive sites you can recommend for the Big stuff?

Thanks, Scott

Thanks, Jam and Ed!

Scott, I am the wrong person to ask about big critters since I dive most of the time with my nose 2-3 inches from the bottom.

Although not daily sights, people have seen dugongs, mantas, quite a few reef sharks and a couple of years ago a group of divers were visited by a family of 3 Orcas. The season of migrating whales coming from the East and swimming near our north shore is upon us. Mark and Dive Timor will be able to take you to Atauro Island where I hear there are big fish sites. I have not been to those yet, myself.

Send me a PM when you are in town. I'm good for a few drinks. :)

Nick

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the info....I'll be there between Sept 20 thru the 28th and will be staying at the Dilli Beach Hotel...I'll look forward getting together.
