My husband and I want to go on a trip for his birthday on Feb. 6. We live in LA and will be going to Martha's Vineyard (to visit family) after we go on our Caribbean trip. So we'd fly in & out of Boston. We'd like to go somewhere we haven't been (T&C, DR, PR) and that has good shore dives and boat dives.

We would also love to have options as to food and other activities. We went to Costa Rica earlier this year, and although the resort was nice, it was a bit isolated, all the meals were at their restaurants and we didn't get to see any of the country.

Would LOVE any suggestions!!

Thanks!

Only dived Saint Croix. Great place to dive and visit. The island is small enough that you can make all the interesting dive sites of the island. Feb is a great period.

Other places that you may want to concider in the area: Saba, St Barth, Guadeloupe and British Virgin Island.

I love st croix. Options for shore and boat dives. Many great dive ops. I was there a few months ago and dove with or utilized the services of six different dive ops. Met the owners of a seventh but didn't actually dive with them.come to think of it, I ended up chatting with the owners of five of the seven dive ops-all were readily available. All dive ops were great people and wanted to facilitate the best dives possible for me. I dove solo about 65% of the time, always from shore. The rest were boat dives. Ive been dreaming of going back ever since.

I stayed middle of the island because I was working at the hospital. Rented a car, drove to wherever I wanted to dive that day, sometimes id have four tanks rolling around in my trunk.

It's a small island, everyone knows everyone else. There is good support between the shops and often instructors/DMs will help between shops when necessary. Pretty Collegial relationships, although the obvious competition is present.

Plenty to do topside. Good enough restaurants, fun topside activities and sites. The locals are amazing people.the water is blue, warm, beautiful. Plenty of diving.

If interested pm me, I'll give you specific contact info on dive shops depending on what you are looking for.
