We're coming in early on CO red-eye and staying at Plaza

Plaza offers alternative to paying for room night before so would have room to crash

Continentals Brunch, Beach on Bonaire
$45.00pp
Price includes:
Ø One, buffet breakfast at the Caribbean Point Restaurant between 6:30a.m. - 11:00a.m.
Ø One, "Lunch of the day" at the Banana Tree Restaurant between 12 noon - 2:00p.m. < select menu.
Ø Complimentary luggage & dive gear storage (until check-in).
Ø Complimentary towels and chaise lounge at our beach & pool (1 towel, per person).
Ø Earliest possible check-in.
Ø Early bird dive orientation and check-out "18 Palms" shore dive for divers; 9:00a.m. at Toucan Dive shop.
Ø 5% Bonaire sales tax.
*Kids 2-12 pay 50% on BB&B.

I would think if you're staying at the resort they would stow your luggage, gear for you gratis while you wait for a room! Appears to me as this basically buying you getting on the front of list for your rooms?

I would imagine most Checking out the day you arrive are taking the flight you came in on back so there should be some rooms available early to be cleaned)

We'll have a car so I figured we can find other places less $$ to eat breakfast, lunch while we kill time for Toucan Diving to open..

I can't see their objecting to you using their facilities while wait for room (so could take power nap on chaise lounges, use pool..

That is crazy:shakehead:We have a group of 40 arrining in june of 2011 some early, they are picking us up at the at the airport, i have never heard of this early charge:shakehead:

Me neither. I previously stayed at Coco Palms and Golden Reef and they got me right to room as soon as arrived and did the payment, check in when the office opened. Coco Palms now asked to pay for night before but at 50% which is fair.

I'll be arriving the Saturday before Easter Sunday so part of it has to do with Plaza usually being sold out that weekend. It just reads to me as if I buy their brunch, breakfast, they'll clean our room first. With family of 5, it's over $200.

For me, it will be piece of mind to minimize crankiness of kids/wife from the red-eye.

p.s. I loved both Coco and Golden reef inn when came with my regular dive buddy. Since will be with family, really need their beach for wife that doesn't want to dive 24 X 7 like me and my son/daughter. My little one won't be as bored at Plaza.

We just stayed at Plaza a week ago and took the CO redeye in. We did not pay for any sort of special early treatment. They did not have a room ready for us when we checked in, but they stored our gear and luggage in a locked room, provided a bathroom for us to change into swimsuits (and for me to put in my contacts). We went and had breakfast (daily breakfast was included in our rate but IMO it would not be worth paying extra for). Picked up the rental car from onsite operator AB Car Rental. Did the orientation at the dive shop. While hubby got weights and tanks for our first dive, I went to check on our room. Original room wasn't going to be ready until later in the day, but they had a different room all ready for us. Picked up our bags, Plaza gave me a ride over to my room, dropped off the bags in the room, and went for our first dive around 10:30. Longest we had to wait was for our nitrox tanks to be dropped off at the beach (someone had blocked the dive shop's truck with their rental).

Sure, it would have been nice to get a room immediately getting there, but it doesn't sound to me like that rate offers that necessarily. So I would say don't bother. Jut pack the wife and kids a swimsuit in the carryon and let them enjoy either the ocean or the pool for the short wait! :)

I've never stayed at Plaza but have dived with Toucan. They are providing breakfast and lunch so say that's worth $20. I agree luggage/gear storage, use of pool, & early dive orientation are normally provided for those that arrive early. So that leaves $25 for the priveledge of jumping the line at check in. If I'm taking the CO redeye I'd pay $50 for my wife and I to jump the line. So your beef is actually with people like me that are willing to pay for that, Plaza is just filling a demand. If you do a search on the CO redeye you will see that there are actually a lot of people that are willing to pay for the Friday night before just to guarantee the room is ready when they arrive. You're probably much younger than me, my all-nighter days are long past.
