It is encouraging to read the success stories in this thread, but it is important for Dotty, and others in her position, to never force the issue with your ears. There are lots of dive options that should alleviate the sea sickness issue, but you should be prepared for similar sensations if you get involved in diving in surge zone, even a mild one. There can be a motion sickness there too for some people. . Many posters on SB have benefited from an examination of their ears by a competent medical professional, who can best tell you if you can overcome equalization issues. I have known a few people who in their frustration to dive have "forced themselves down" only to cause permanent damage to one or both ears. Don't let that happen.
