I picked the Sahara DryEar up this weekend at the Scuba Show.
It cost $89.95 with the $40 Travel kit thrown in.
This thing works great. Use it after shower and after the gym and I haven't had
ear problems in three days. Heats up for 80 secs then turns itself off.

Seems like a waste of $$$....make my own swimear and never have any problems if I use it right after the dive.

well after checking the thing out thoroughly at the dive show, i am more convinced than ever that this item is waaay overpriced. and i told the doc's son and their mktg rep exactly that. it is NOT a $100 piece of technology. and even with the show promotion of $90 which included the travel kit, it still wasn't enough incentive for me to pull the trigger and hand over my money. maybe if they eventually realize that they need to drop the price on this thing, their sluggish sales will pick up. personally, i wouldn't pay more than about $60 including the travel kit.

I bought one at the SCUBA Show.

I use the swimmer's ear drops and sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. I get external ear infections probably every other month. $100 is worth it to me compared to the time it takes for me to go to the doctor (that's not even taking into consideration the financial cost of seeing him and getting a rx). If it saves me from having even half of the infections that I get now, I'll be happy.

I swam on a team as a child, all that cold water has caused changes in my ear canal.

That was my first impression as well. I looked into it before our liveaboard trip to Belize in March and decided to hold off and stick with the alcohol/vinegar/glycerine drops until the market demand helps adjust the price downward somewhat.

When I first got the thing I thought I wasted my money, But the results me the the wife have gotten on our last to trips show it was a wise investment. No ear problems and clearing beter then ever. This thing really works!

Kind of off the topic but I get reverse block after my 2nd day of diving ndt it sucks, my ear gets tender and I use the swimmers ear drops. Wondering if this could possible be do to an infection on the outer ear, as it hurts when i touch it. Would this little device aid in my cause, i can still go diving I just have to come up slower and deal with a bit of discomfort.

Glad this thred was started. I have been seeing these things arround and really wanted to hear how they worked for people. I agree with many of the people here ,Nice idea but still over priced. I typacly use the alcohol/vinegar/glycerine drops and they work just fine. Maybe in the future hen the price is right i may go for one of these.

Seems to me a beter design would be to make something that looks like the dotor's stethoscope but using cheaper plastic and put the blower motor on a lanyard. that would dry both ears at the same time and free the hands. The curent device is way to slow and uses one hand. Two thre minue cycle for each ear is 12 minutes when you can't do much else but wait.
