Dyeing BCD

Hello:

My BCD has been in the pool too much. It was once black and is now turning brown. I plan on possibly using some Ritz dye on it.

Any tips or other suggestions?

I can't wear a BP/W. Someone has found a way to dye them purple:

Actually I don't think this question is too far out there. I've considered dyeing or "painting" (with dye) my ancient X-Tek so it doesn't look like the rest of my gear.
