Having enough money to dive. It wa s cheap enough, but I was too young to be able to afford even that, or get to places where I wanted to dive. As I got older, that became less of a problem, obviously.

Hi Doc,
I was reading through the forums and saw your reply:

"Mine was actually getting back in the water after my AOW. Looking back, i wasnt ready for it and dont think i got the greatest of training. Hence ended up terrified!

However, rediscovered my love of diving and look at me now!"

You have made me feel so much better to know that it's normal to be scared. I keep hearing about and reading about "must be comfortable in water" and I am, although I have a tendency to over-analyze everything and my yearning for saftey and knowledge are giving me a bit of fear pre OW cerification diving. It's good to know that people do "fear" and it can be overcome. So thanks!! :)

This is easy one for me. Finding the right weight for me. I started with 16 Lbs but found that I was adjusting too often to get neutral. It was not until Hawaii trip that I had no choice but to use 11 Lbs (I weigh 215 Lbs and not all fat) and found my Chi. It's wonderful once you find that right weight, I saved a lot of air since I did not have to constantly compensate. Other than that...the sea sickness...but small price to pay for some fun under the sea.

Not drowning with a tank strapped on my back that was bigger than me. N
