Thanks to all the great feedback I've decided to go with a 7mm wetsuit. Next question. As a photographer it appears I will be one with barnacles and it will be rough on the wetsuit. Since I need to buy a new 7mm which do you recommend from a durability standpoint?

As mentioned earlier very happy with my O'Neil J suit. A few dings in the surface material but held up great. Also very happy with our Seasoft gloves, over two weeks of diving not one hole or issue while watching others go through gloves in days.

On the other hand, while comfortable and warm enough (I wore a 5mm FJ in the cold month of August, with a 3mm "core warmer" added for the extra-cold central islands), the Galapagos aren't the best place to wear a Henderson Hyperstretch. The fabric covering takes too much abuse there.

Also, watch your hands when barnacle-crawling. If you accidentally break a few off and create "fish food", you'll likely be molested by an annoying spanish hogfish that can get in the way of your photos.
