Dump Valve!!!

Is the position of this dump valve problematic or non-DIR?

Looks like a standard position and not problematic at all, this is my preferred position.

Time for a new drysuit and I've been thinking about the dump valve position.

I feel that the standard shoulder position makes it a little awkward to dump whilst staying in flat trim, maybe it's just me and my technique or perhaps it's something to do with my current drysuit.

I read about some alternative positions like the cuff but don't think I would go that extreme, then I saw some mentions of the "DIR position" as shown in this pic:



Anyone have their valves in the "DIR" position who can give some feedback?

So you would say mine isn’t in the DIR position?

It looks like it is ok to me, on the side of your shoulder/arm should vent fine. Don't sweat an inch or two. How does it feel? Do you need to roll excessively to vent?

No I don’t usually have to roll and it feels good.
