I have a question about drysuit shoulder zippers and backplates. Not having a backplate, but contemplating one at some time, is there a wear problem between a metal plate and an exposed zipper? Seems like it would be metal to metal.
Thanks,
D.C.C.

I've never used a backzip suit, but I think the plate would generally be below the zipper. However, if you got a plate with Halcyon bolt pattern, you could use one of their backpacks to pad the zipper somewhat. I really don't think it would be an issue, but can't say from first hand experience.

...with my backplate and shoulder zip suit. I have some lightweight neoprene pads on the straps, and keep them moved up tight to the backplate. As near as I can tell, that should be what is touching the zipper. If a wear pattern begins to develop, I'll be sure to drop you a line.
