Hi Guys and Gal's...

Hope your all enjoying your diving?!!! I had a rather fun yet cold (6 degrees C at surface level) dive at the weekend where my "Buddy" didn't manage to do my dry suit zip up tight enough. I was confused and concerned after 20 minutes about how cold i was; I have a fourth element xerotherm artic undersuit, which is supposed to keep you warm up to - 10C. After aborting the dive and surfacing i made everyone laugh as i unzipped my dry suit and the only bit of the sea not to fall out was a few fish!!! oh well thats UK diving ha ha.
On a more serious note, i was shocked to see an article in a 'lads mag' that showed a french hypermarket actively displaying a captured and killed basking shark in it's fish section. The 4m specimen was then cut up in to steaks and sold off - Surely something should be done?!!!!

Happy journeys...

Steve

Steve,

I had the same experience Sunday on Dive #2. The exception is, I can't blame a dive buddy since I'm the dumas that didn't get it zipped quite far enough! (front entry) :D

I knew it as soon as I jumped in. I called the dive before I ever submerged and sat out while drying off. :)

I chalk it up to having completed the tech dive for the day and relaxing for the shallow skills dive. I didn't do a thorough predive check of my suit. Lesson learned.
