Looking for a good combination of quality vs cost. The waters I dive are usually not colder than 60, but I have some very long bottom times. Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

One that fits would be a good start...

I would suggest staying away from neoprene...namely for bouyancy reasons....

look at the bare's suits....maybe even white's

I have not yet bought one, but am exploring the same thing you are...suit on a budget...only real difference is I get to dive with 60 degrees as my surface temp.

I've got a brand new Bare ATR-HD size ML-Tall for sale, if you're interested. I'm asking $895, but we could work something out. The suit retails for $1699.

I also would stay away from regular neoprene unless you want to wear 30 lbs of weight and have your bouyancy change with depth. One of the best things about a drysuit is that regardless of depth, you don't get heavier or lighter.

How much is the budget. What do you want to do with it? I know you use a RB. I'm not familiar with there use with a drysuit.

Gates Pro VSN 1100 are around $1200 and a great suit.

Gates CBX 450's are around $1000 and great suits. Cordura outer. Means tough.

Hard to find used. But also, not $1700-2500 of a DUI.

I would't buy a Rubber suit like Viking if you're wrecking. Rusty metal and rubber means holes. Easy to patch. But easy to puncture.

Dive rite has a good suit that I think retails at around 1200. You can probably get it a good bit less than they. USIA also sells some less expensive suits, and I have always been a fan of abysmal. DUI which makes the best suits for recreational diving has a new budget line of suit, it is the shoulder entry version. I think they can be had for around 1200.

DUI makes the Best Suits? That's a personell opinion. Actually I would't trade my Suit for one. They make great suits. Depending on what you use them for. But the Best. Can't be the best for all types of diving.

DUI sells a Rubber suit too. But they don't make it....

www.Diveinn.com has a ScubaPro CN Blitzkrieg or something like that for around $700 new. With latex seals and warm neoprene covers for the seals. Pockets too. But not much is out about it yet. Looks nice though.

For Wrecking I believe in Cordura. For all around I like the Gates VSN 1100. For recovery a 1050 or 1500 rubber suit....

It really depends on your budget and what you want to spend. $700 you're probably getting a used suit that's good or a New suit you'll want to upgrade later....

DUI is one of the best manufacturers. But not the only manufacturer making the best suits. And I've dove DUI's too. And wouldn't trade mine for one. There are somethings I like on them. But there are some things I don't like also...

Soggy is right. Stay away from regular neoprene. Unless you have some reason for it....

Mverick,

I am curious to know if you have ordered anything from the Diveinn site? I need a pair of the Dry Suit Socks, but unsure of the shipping and and reliability of the site.

What are drysuit socks and why do you need them? A pair of $5 wool socks from walmart has kept my feet toasty in water down into the 30s.

Though I have no personal experience with DiveInn, many people I know have ordered via them and received excellent service. You should also check out www.leisurepro.com

Try the Bare NextGen dry suit. I've had mine for about a month now after diving a Harvey's neoprene suit for 9 years. I really like the suit so far, and for less than 600.00 it's a great deal!

Thanks guys sorry should have given more info, trying to stay at about 1000. Thinking of the whites-nexus, any thoughts?
