barb once bubbled...
Were'nt you worried about fit? Shipping back to Denmark would be expensive. I'm not familiar with Northern Divers suits. Do they have a web site I could investigate. $760. certainly is a better price, although that's probably U.S. dollars right? I'm talking Canadian dollars. Still it works out to be less than what I was quoted for a Bare or a DUI.

I went to a tailor and had myself measured for about $10.

I checked the ND site and the site I bought the suit from (both had measurement charts), and one of the sizes was almost exactly me. I bought it, it fits beautifully. I couldn't be any happier.

And yeah, it's US$..

I have'nt seen a 2mil suit made for women yet

The Northern Diver CNX is a 2.5 mm suit that comes in several off the rack sizes for the ladies, and custom cut as well.

They have the size charts available in PDF format.

If you're interested in a Viking Xtreme, I can hook you up with the dealer in Montreal [if you don't mind the 200km drive].
He'll *probably* let you try one out.

Barb,
You might PM Divegal. She's in your neighborhood and might be able to direct you to an LDS who can help. I'm pretty sure she's a drysuiter, so she could, at least, tell you how she solved the problem.

... is available online. The instructions are pretty clear, and allow you to compare to the chart.

O-ring and myself just went through the whole drysuit ordeal. We were able to try on a friends suit as well as a few at the store. I was also able to try on another brand we were considering on our budget. We ordered stock suits, but changed our minds with 24hrs of placing the order. We ended up with custom suits since we didn't fit the charts exactly. I think it was worth the extra money.

Good luck with your purchase. Definitely try to find a place that rents the suits and try a few stock sizes.

I was offered to try one in Les Escoumins, P.Q. while diving there and I said no thank you I want to be trained before taking it out in the open water.

Smart diver! If I were to tell you some of the things I've personally witnessed by untrained people in drysuits...

I won't tell you how much I paid for the DUI simply because I paid too much. The "professional discount" the LDS was supposed to give me never materialized. And by the time I realized what the shop owner was doing, it was too late. Needless to say, I don't do business with them anymore.

BTW, have you looked at Canadian mfgs like Whites, Abyss, or Brooks? All these are good makes as well.

Thanks Wetman,
I called Dan at Divetech and may go to see him. He currently only has a Bare and DUI in stock for me to see. That's better than nothing, which is almost what Ottawa has.
I'm hearing that Europe offers better prices but I'm a little worried about sizing, alterations, repairs when needed.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Barb
