I got drysuit trained as part of the advanced course. It was just one of the five specialty sections. It only cost about $100 more for the rental, pool time, and 5 dives with an instructor. I didn't get a card or any other proof but so far i haven't needed it.
you did not take the speciality course..you did an adventure dive..the dry dive is an elective dive on the advance course..you only get the adv ow card..the 5 dives should have bee the core dives-navigation,deep and three electives, one of which you choose as dry suit dive..the dry suit speciality course is much more involved..

the speciality course ,when taught properly will teach you not only how to dive the suit but care and maintence of it..emergency procedures ,repairs like seal replacement, leak repairs etc

Seal replacement? I'd think that could be a class on it's own. I've never talked to anyone who had a crash course in seal replacement while in a DrySuit Speciality class from ANY agency.

The class I took *discussed* seal replacement, and maintenance, but teaching seal replacement IMO seems like something that would take more time than the entire classroom part of the drysuit class! :D

its in the course outline..wrist seal takes me maybe 15 minutes or less to do..to cover all the academics(classroom) in the course usually takes 2 - 90 min sessions in addition to pool work and 2 ow dives.
