Hello All, I am considering purchasing the Bare Nex-Gen drysuit. It is very inexpensive as drysuits go. Can anyone give me any insight or relate any personal experience about this drysuit? Is it good, mediocre, or bad?

Thanks

Jeff

My dive buddy bought one when I bought my Bare xcd2 drysuit. He loves it and I sometimes wish I had bought that one instead. Mine is a lot heavier and takes forever to try because it is compressed neoprene instead of a shell like the nex-gen. Make sure to check out divetank.com they have the best return policy and warranty as well as an incredible price. Richard at divetank.com is the man. He will make you glad you went through him.

I've heard nothing but good things about it and, in person, the build quality seems quite high.. especially compared to cheapo urethane-coated nylon suits like the Whites Nexus.

If it fits well, go for it.

I´m starting my second year with my Nex-Gen. I did develop a pin-hole leak in a wrist seal before I should have, but fixed it quickly with Aquaseal. The wrist seals seem to have some premature aging, but that may be my fault for not washing them regularly and not treating them with seal protectant. In all, though, I think the suit was a real bargain and a durable suit. I love diving dry and I really like my Nex-gen. If I ever decide to invest in a high level, more expensive drysuit, I know that I will always have a dependable backup. Until then, my wetsuit is my backup.

I talked to Rich a few times. He is great to deal with. I would have bought a suit but needed to try it on first. I was skeptical of nexgens do to being light weight and we dive in rocky areas and scour our suits. If you easy on your suits the nexgen may be a good deal.

My buddy and I both have NexGens (from Leisure Pro) It's good enough.... If I had 2,000 for a DUI I would get a DUI but this gets me diving whenever I want and I had some money left over for my cannister light.

Ive got one its great dries quick and the buoyancy is good also inexpensive if you fit a stock size. Make sure to get a nice set of T-100 underwear to go with it to :)

I've had one for about a year and it has been a great drysuit. Much better then the old neoprene gumby drysuits I use to use back in the mid 80's. I've been in waters with temperatures in the upper 30's to lower 40's and with the T-200 undersuit and have been perfectly comfortable. I will always stick with shell suits from now on.
