Terrific pictures! What camera set up?

FlyHigh:

The diver pics were taken south of Fort Jefferson and south of the marine sanctuary (where you cant hunt) in the Dry Tortugas. I do not have the numbers. The close up stuff was taken in the Marquesas...real bad vis there because of the storm and it hadn't cleared.

DennisW:

I am with you. Although bugs are great, the Hog filets are a rare treat.

Quetzal:

Boat limit on bugs was 120 and we were a few shy after 3 days hunting.

Johnoly and Diver Dennis:

Thanks for the kind words. We arrived a few days after Katrina and the vis was down but better in the Tortugas than in the Marquesas. Background is kind of fuzzy as a result but I got close enuf to get some good diver shots. I will tell Barry you liked the pic of him.

The rig is a Canon 20D in an Ikelite housing with twin 125ds strobes. The diver shots were taken with the 10-22mm efs wa zoom under an 8" dome port.

Really nice pix.Who says you have to leave the US to find pristine waters.

Great pics. I am trying to get into spear fishing and lobstering. I currently live in VA Beach. Any tips on good brands of gear, what types of speargun to use, etc.? Also, I am in the market for some underwater photo gear and was wondering what you used to capture those photo's. Thanks.

Oops...just read your post about the camera setup. ignore that last question on my previous post.

Bolney:

Welcome to the Scubaboard! You might want to post an introduction in the "meets and greets" section. You are in the right forum for your question. Try searching this forum because there are a ton of old threads on the subject of equipment. Similarly, in the UW photo forum you will find a sticky thread on how to get started in UW photography (look in the tips and techniques subforum). After cruising the site a little bit, post some specific questions. You will get a lot of help.

I mostly photograph now adays. However, when in hunting mode I carry an AB Biller 48" speargun with two 5/8 bands. The speargun is about 15 yrs old and still serves me quite nicely.
