All I can say is that when I ordered my new suit, I ordered it with a zippered pocket on the right and a velcro bellows on the left. I figured I was covered either way.
With the ringed dry-gloves the zipper is not a problem, and neither is the velcro.
I guess I'm not too streamlined, but I never expected to glide through the water like a seal as a human in a bag suit.
I only have two dives in this new suit with these pockets, so all I can say is they both seem to work so far.
