I'm a Fish!
I know very little about Dry Suits can someone tell me about them. I have heard people say they are huge hassles...why is that? I have heard that the can "pinch" you when you dive. What is the difference between a neoprene dry suit and a standard? Does the neoprene get wet like a wetsuits?

Any info would be appreciated.:)

There is a ton of info in this forum....heh

If you put "drysuit" into the search tool for the exposure suit forum, you'll probably be inundated with things....

I have a recently new TLS350 suit from DUI that I like so far...

I haven't ever been piched while diving, and surmise that someone who has might either have a suit that doesn't fit them quite as nicely as mine fits ne, or they might like to keep much less air in theirs....(although I keep very little in mine so far...). There may be other reasons I'm unaware of.

Bear in mind that my trilam suit has only gotten wet for twelve or so dive so far, so I'm relatively new to drysuits.

As for it being a hassle, I don't agree. I do find that I'm not as streamlined in the water, so I expend more effort to swim as compared to a wetsuit. However, I'm also dry, and am therefore going to tend to be warmer between dives than if I'd used a wetsuit.

Also, because I can vary my undersuit, I can accommodate a wider variety of diving conditions than in a wetsuit.

I don't know about neoprene drysuits, but believe there are two types, semi-dry neo, and crushed, totally dry neo...I could be wrong. the info is likely in the forum, and you may very well find it, if you do a quick search...

Good luck!
