I'll have to try it out sometime. I don't have a backup light on my left d-ring yet, but don't tell the DIR police.. :)
Too late.

I'm going have to write you a citation.

I think it depends on the plate. On both my DSS and Fred T plates, the argon bottle is mounted fairly high on the plate. It just routes cleaner through the shoulder harness. And connecting the inflator hose first (before getting into the harness) is really a pretty simple thing to do. It's just part of the gearing up routine ...

Can you reach the valve easily? I mount mine low and have learned to have the neck of the bottle right about where the butt dump is.

Citation written. You'll have to come with me for questioning.
JJ plays Good Cop, GI3 (dressed in Speedo) plays Bad Cop.

Same here.

mine goes under the waist and doesn't touch the shoulder straps at all.

Both plate mounted 6ft or tank mounted 13cf (which I put on "low" to avoid hose to butt dump conflicts)

I hate you for making me remember that visual. :mooner:

Yes ... putting it lower interferes with my ability to access the dump valve ...

Mess up again and he'll give you a spankin'. :rofl3:

That's strange. When I put my 6 cft bottle as low as it can go (valve almost as low as the bottom of the tank) it doesn't interfere with the rear dump at all, but higher up it does and also digs into my back. I am using a 55# Explorer wing.

Mine just a little higher than shown in Dan's pic. Joe Talavera taught me to put the crown of the 6cf bottle even with the butt dump. Works well and doesn't hang too low and smash up the reg.
