I know, I know the word dentist strikes fear in most of us. Try being on the island of Cozumel and needing, really needing, a dentist. I have to say I found a wonderful dentist, Dra. Alejandra Novoa Carus. Should you need dental work Google the name you will find a website. The work done - superior and the cost about 1/4 of the US. I now have a reason other than diving to travel to Cozumel - my 6 month dental checkup.

Welcome to the board and thanks for the info, I always need more reasons to go to Cozumel!:D

welcome aboard

Yes I have her bookmarked to use on our next trip to COZ this October.
How is she?
Anyway, welcome aboard scubaboard, glad to have you with us.

Good Morning Blue Steal: She is wonderful. What impressed me most was her kindness and hardly any pain. I am going back the end of september to have more dental work done. Well, I am diving too. I was not just a cleaning, I had a crown, tooth (large molar) extracted (the american dentist boched a root canal and it became infected and literally went south when I was diving) and other tooth stuff I could have never afforded in the US. When I return the next step for the implant (large molar) will be done. I have the greatest confidence in this dentist. Here is her number 987 8 69 81 89 (land) (044) 987 103 6525 (cell) nova_ale@hotmail.com(email) - address: 30 Av. (P.J. Coldwell) #1320 Planta Alta, Frente a CONALEP, Cozumel. Do not expect all the bells and whistles of the american dental office but you can expect excellent dental care and a very modest price. Cheri

Thanks for the information. I have a good dentist here in California, for the last 17 years she has been good. the problem is the billing. The prices have just become to much, $900 for a crown, $200 for fillings, $92 for cleanings. I would like to replace all my silver/mercury fillings with a colored filling and the cost is to much here. I will check her out this October.
