Boat pickup downtown is the best in my book. We stay at Casa Mexicana (downtown) and dive with Aldora (big tanks), although I believe several operators use the same Aldora Dock. We finish breakfast at about 7:20-7:25 and it's less than a 5 minute walk to the boat....and I walk slow.

We dove with Blue Magic on our first real Cozumel trip and the diving and staff were excellent in all regards, but you had to get to their shop first, then they paid for cab to the Marina. On the upside, Zermatt Bakery was on the corner for the morning coffee and pastries and Burrito Gordito (and now King Burrito too) is on the other corner for lunch afterwards. The downside was having to ride in the van to the marina both ways. Not a major drawback.....but getting off the boat at the Aldora dock and walking across the street to The Thirsty Cougar for ceviche and a Bohemia Obscura is much nicer.

3 years ago, there were no facilities (at least that we saw) at the Caletta Marina and no beer. I don't know if any dive ops still use Caletta or not, but that's important to know.

Blue XTSea is a great operation with lots of fans. I'm not sure which dock they use. Christi/ Blue XTSea is a huge supporter of this site and always provides up to the minute information about Cozumel. If you haven't chosen an operator yet, she deserves a look!

Aldora is a great op as well and uses Steel 120 tanks for longer dives. Dave supports this site as well. We dive with them for the multiple boats grouped by skill level and the big tanks....not to mention great service and and awesome staff. That can be said for all the dive ops we have used though.

Tres Pelicanos gets lots of favorable reviews on Scubaboard too, although I know very little about their operation or where the pick up. I'm sure someone will chime in.

Safe travels,
Jay
