Everytime I hook my camera up to the computer Adobe jumps in and wants to download the picture, but I don't want to Dl'd them with Adobe. How do I shut that stupid function off?

Hmm.. you propably run windows xp rite? There's a box at the bottom right corner of your computer (the one with time, date and all that). There you can find adobe's own photoviewer proggie. Open it and set it so that it won't think itself as a default downloading proggie and that it won't start at startup anymore. Hope that helped. For any closer assistance I need to know your system specs and the real name of that adobe proggie. If I remember correctly I had that problem for a while after upgrading my adobe reader, but I sorted it out like that :)

You can also prioritize files from a certain location by right clicking and clicking on "open with". You then choose whichever program you want to use, and Windows will normally always open files from that source with that program until you say otherwise.

:frown: no adobe thinggie in the right corner.

:frown: I know that I can do that when I open a picture that is already on my computer, but how would I do that before I dl?

Charlie99:
In PS Elements 3.0 the control is in Edit | Preferences | Camera-Digital Reader

Ok, I don't see that option. :bawling: ( I checked in saving files too)

Uncle Pug:
In your attachement: first menu/second line... file association. Uncheck all the ones you don't want PS to open.
That just controls whether or not PS will be launched when you double click on the various file types from the Explorer or other browsers.

Leesa -- what's in the "organize and share" preferences menu at the bottom of your screen capture? In PSE3 there are essentially 2 programs -- the editor and the organizer. The download controls are in the preferences for the Organizer portion.

I tried clicking that one and it crashed the program...I just tried again and it is there. But my camera isn't listed. Only my photo printer, strange.

I have unclicked it....lets see if it makes a difference

WOOOHOOO!!! That did the trick! I was so S&T of that thing blocking everything!!

Thanks a bunch!!
