I'm a Fish!
Should the center isolation valve on a set of doubles be tightened so it is in a fix position or should it be free to rotate? I have been told that it will not leak if the center bar is loose because of the double o-ring. I would like a DIR answer to this.

Free to rotate

so do you just tighten the locking nuts back on the center valve?

Yes...mind you...I don't tighten them to either side...but I make sure that the isolator valve is able to move in either direction (if that makes any sense)

What Jeff said. It's oh so nice when the isolator can actually move (not to mention less likely to get hung-up on something).

I actualy remove the lock nuts on my isolators.
