Hello all,

Wanting some opinions on how to make my hose routing a little better. The main issue I have is head movement when on the backup reg. My hose is long enough to allow comfortable head turning to the left, but seems to get hung up and won't allow me to fully turn to the right. I swapped some hoses around and came up with these combinations. The first one is how I normally route (long hose on the forward port, lpi routed under the alternate). Second is with the long hose on the rear port. Have also considered running the alternate behind the lpi. Which is preferable? Are there any other configurations that might work better with these first stages? Considering switching the lpi and alternate hoses to flex hoses to possibly give me more movement. This is with al80s so short neck tanks. Thanks!

so you have two LPI hoses but only one LPI? If taht's the case that's an intersting idea for partial redundancy. My old doubles wing had redundant bladders and tehrefore two LPI's so I've never considered how to setup for a single bladder wing

I'm no doubles expert by any means..and my doubles experience was a long long time ago... so this may not be worth much
I don't like the kink in the short LP hose coming out of your 1st stage...and if I'm understanding correctly, this is the hose you're having a problem with
thoughts
  • rotate that first stage clockwise from the perspective of the photo so that the hose comes out of it straight
  • add an elbow or swivel to that hose at the first stage
  • or maybe best, swap the short hose over to the other first stage and bring the long hose off of your left hand first. I'm pretty sure that's how I had mine set up....

They both look fine so go diving but beware phantom drysuit hoses

Nah mate save your dosh and figure it out with rubber

Also tried running the alternate under the corrugated hose. Most head movement with this. Might switch the long hose to the front port to get rid of that lpi bend.

The other lpi goes to my drysuit from the left post

I would go under the corrugated hose. Infront of the bladder using a 24in hose.
If it was swivel we use 22in

1) I would be happy to jump on a video chat with you to try different configurations live. Free of charge.
2) What would happen if the 1st stages were at a different angle? So that the hose going to your backup is facing down.
3) I keep my necklace (backup) regulator above the inflator hose, but it should work either way.
4) If it works, it works.

Is this what you’re talking about? The hose is 24”. I like the way this feels but might consider switching the ports on the right post so the long hose is in front

Hi im in asia hehehe

but i use ds4 doubles for my wife and a tek3 for myself.

so lets position everything… back to front while facing your doubles set. ds4 horizontal for now.

Its Valves , bladder, hoses. take note all the hoses are infront of the bladder. NO. HOSES in between valves and bladder. now pressurize with the regs horizontal.

Long hose is infront of the bladder

Inflator hose is infront of the bladder then goes to inflator hose. first band needs tk be at the highest

Backup is INFRONT of bladder but goes under the corrugated hose.

HP Hose infront of the bladder.

so when you’re in diving position . horizontal. from top to bottom its valves, bladder , hose diver.

Is this what you’re talking about? The hose is 24”. I like the way this feels but might consider switching the ports on the right post so the long hose is in front

i prefer ALL hoses to be infront of the bladder not behind it. so all hoses are sandwiched between diver and bladder

and yes… long hose needs to be outer
