I see on the GUE site that they have a cross-connect between the (I assume) low pressure ports on the regulators on a set of doubles. I haven't looked at the hose ends of a LP hose, but are they both the same fitting, or is this a special hose? I don't see any mention of it in the various DIR hose kits for doubles available.

If it is a special hose, where do you get it? What length? I see the 6 inch hose they offer, is that long enough?

Mike

There is no cross-connect between LP ports on regulators. I'm not sure what you're seeing.

The left post regulator has the SPG, drysuit inflator if applicable, and the backup regulator. Three hoses, that's all.

The right post has the primary regulator and the BC inflator. Two hoses, that's all.

If you are saying that LP ports are actually interconnected between a pair of first stages, this is emphatically not the case. The picture must be misleading.

there isn't a cross connect between the regs.

do you have a link to what you are talking about?

I think you are misinterpreting the picture, as several folks have suggested. What you are probably looking at is a picture of an RB80, which does have a tubing connection as part of the manifold assembly.

If you can post a link to the picture that you saw, then that would be a big help in explaining what is going on.

I looked for the link, but it is hiding right now, if I can find it I will post it. It was probably just the way the hoses were routed, but it sure appeared that there was a short hose cross-connecting the regs...of course my next question would be why?

Perhaps to flummox those who do things they don't understand because of a picture they saw on the internet.

Good on you for asking before doing.

(EDIT) ... Ah ... you answered while I was typing.

The LP hose from the left post is for your backup second stage.
The LP hose coming from the right post is for your wing inflator.
