With hp100s, 400gm undergarment, shell suit + SS plate I wear about 16lbs on my belt. If I put that in a V-weight I'm never get off my head.

If you are wearing doubles you obviously need a BCD to control your trim
Really

but you don't need wights that are detachable depending on the kind of diving you will do! Wights are for one thing and one thing only to sink the rubber! If you can dive without wights you will have a better dive! Longer dives as well! A BCD is not required, but nether is a motor in your car if your at the top of the hill! But getting back up the other side could be a challenge? Every diver should strive to use as little wight as possible!
Okey dokey

You might want to look past your little pond if you want to dispense advice.

Like I said. You need to get out more.

Wow, With the SS back plate that is a bunch of wight as well! That's why I like the LP95, LP105's, and the LP120's! All the wight you need! That and the transpac! I also always carry a 50lb lift bag, you just never know! You know!

Actually no, depending on the manufacturer, they can all have approx the same empty buoyancy. Faber does (did?) I think make some really negative tanks, but Faber LP's, and the PST/worthingtons are basically all the same empty -- -2 pounds to neutral.

it's not how much weight you have at the start of the dive that's important, it's when the tanks are empty at the end :)

unless wight is different than weight ?

Unless there is a wing failure at the start of the dive and you are diving it wet AND have no ditchable weight. But, nobody does that...

Ummm do you really know tank specs? I actually have LP95s and they are neutral when empty. The Worthington Hp100s are -2lbs. So I actually need 4lbs more in my Faber tanks. I use the same belt and add a 4lb V-weight between tanks.

right -- that's not the smartest thing in the world (tm) to be doing in my opinion.

I was addressing what I thought was the implied point, in that cause there's a lot of gas in a 120, you dont need to wear lead and it's sadly not usually the case.

Check out this chart! They are always negative! Two Tanked Productions HD & SD Underwater Productions and video services - means will sink not float! Negative means you should be able to remove wight! Worhtington 100 empty is 2.5 neg! not neutral! With back plate really not neutral!
