I got an email from my brother forwarding me pictures of a crazy looking fish caught from the Congo River. I tried searching Snopes to see if it was real, but I couldn't find anything. Can anyone here identify this fish?

Ah. MeiLing...thanks for the straight line!:D

Ans: Whatever it wants!

:rofl3: :rofl3:

It appears to be well document on a number of sites. None of the web-myth pages mention it, though. Hmmm.:coffee:

The vis is probably so poor in the Congo river that you wouldn't even see him coming after you! That is one gnarly looking fish!

Wow! I wonder if anyone has ever been attacked by those things....:11:
Probably, but doubtful there were any leftovers to find!:jaws:

Those teeth appear to be holding teeth rather than those used for sawing or tearing out chunks of flesh. So I would say that fish only eats things that it can swallow whole. But I'm just curious why that fish would need such large holding teeth while a similar fish, such as a tarpon, doesn't need them.
