Will be in Springfield MO for the 3rd week in April need a place to do some diving, any suggestions.

From Springfield you have several options, Table Rock Lake, Beaver Lake, Bull Shoals, and Tannie Como.

thanks but I was hopping for something, closer. do you know of any dive shops in town

You are pretty much SOL for anything closer than what was mentioned. There is Stockton Lake, but it is no closer and the conditions are normally not what most people are looking for. Table Rock is really not much of a drive from Springfield, to be honest.
As for dive shops, there are a couple but I cannot think of the names right now for the life of me. I am sure that if you check the Yellow Pages on-line they will show up.
