HI all..

I am new to the site and a friend highly recommended it to me. I have a wedding in Punta Cana , Dominican Republic. Any divign in that area I should be aware of. Seems like most sites recommend Catalina Island but don't give descriptions, seems like a fend for yourself? -- anyone been? Is punta cana decent diving too

I just got back from the DR last week but was in the Puerto Plata area ( Sosua to be exact ) The diving is not that great there ( by Carribean standards ) but a lot better than what we have back home. I have heard that the diving in Punta Cana is not good either and that you have to go to the Catalina Island area. I paid $169 US for 6 dives over three days ( you save a a little off the regular $ 60 US for two dives per day ).
Have fun in the DR and safe diving.
