So, during the dive at Champagne in Dominica. I looked down a barrel sponge and THIS was in there. Can anyone tell me what it is?

That is weird. My best guess would be some sort of basket star.

I've only seen them unfurled at night (feeding). There are alot of those
in the Dry Tortugas. Cool creatures. During the day you would see
them wrapped around sea fans in a "clump".

Just got back from Dominica and probably saw the same basketstar--furled during the day and open at night on Champagne.
