During a dive from our rental house Mon I could hear a lot of clicks and chirps so i began to move toward the deeper water. It got louder but all I could see was shadows. I thought may be it was in my head until we surfaced to our house guest asking if we saw the Dolphins jumping right where we were at. I guess they just didn't wana let us play with them. May be next time.

We watched a pod of 20 or so dolphins in that area the week of June 20, 2009. We were staying at Sun reef Village and while eating our breakfast, watched them traveling along parallel to shore right along the wall drop-off.

We saw a pod of 4 dolphins following a fishing boat while eating breakfast one morning at All West the following week.

It seems from the reports and sightings that pods of Spinner Dolphins have been travelling up and down the south side of Curacao lately. In fact, just the other day a huge pod stayed all day in the Santa Cruz area.

It is so cool to hear them underwater!! Thanks for the report!

If you get the chance... head up to our side of the island to dive Watamula! You just never know what you will see!!

All the best and safe diving!

We have a friend from NH and his sister from Texas staying in our apartment this week, they fly home tomorrow. Today they were very ambitious and took the kayaks from Westpunt to the Blue Room just past Santa Cruz. Oh yeah, and they had to paddle back.... The 8 hours on the water was well worth it when they came upon or rather a pod of 50 dolphins came across them in the kayaks. Richard was strong enough to paddle fast enough to create a wake for them to play in. A fantastic end to their vacation!
