I suppose that you adjusting the various camera settings manually. Can you talk a little about this. Do you have to change settings often? How much time does it take you to set up for a shot? Are there settings that you can use generally for medium or close up shots? I have often heard of calibrating white balance. Do you do this?
Yes, I shoot on the manual setting but with practice I am getting pretty good at changing the settings quickly. I don't usually have a lot of time to set up a shot so rely on a few settings that work "generally". If I have time to make adjustments, I will do so and take other shots but you really, really need to dive with a DM that goes slowly to do this. Sometimes I can see a shot coming at me (for the WA stuff) and adjust as I am coming into the photo area. I don't calibrate white balance. There are settings I use "generally" and then adjust from there but those probably vary from camera to camera. When I started out, I googled my camera + underwater settings and read what that told me.
