Erik, in order to attach the Dräger shell and it's inards to a backplate you need a frame that connects the two. The frame attaches to the shell and uses two bolts 11" apart that in turn allow you to mount the bp/w.

There are several frames available commercially, for example from tmi shop and Diving Equipment Specialties.

As well as additional info on diver's website's like Kim Meineche's or selfmade frames like Tubby's.
