Anyone goin to Pearl Saturday? will be down A.M. lookin for a dive bud,for a dive or two. :crafty: Will be awarm day 80s top side!

You know, 3LD's having the big Trash & Treasure thing going on Sat. up at Devils Lake. I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem hooking up with someone there if you can't find a buddy for Pearl. Cheaper, too.

You know, I'm not sure where you are in WI, but there are a couple of small lakes in Janesville. Lions Beach and the old Atlas pit. You need an annual permit ($25.00), but it is close and the water is rather clear. At 10 acres and max depth of 37' it's rather smallish. A good place to work on skills, though. The only problem is air fills; Madison or Rockford are the closest places. I'm diving there this morning; I'll post current conditions tonight.

Okay, this is a tail of two (small) lakes. My (ex)buddy (just kidding) checked out these lakes earlier in the week and suggested the first one; Lions Pond. If I could sum it up in a word: Worthless! Vis was something like, um, 2 feet max. Spent an hour here "looking" around and basically wasted half a tank. After the dive, we went over to the second pond; Kiwani's Pond. I took one look and asked why the heck we didn't come here? He was out of air, so I gave him my second tank and a few minutes we were enjoying vis of 15'-20', lots of fish, and all the golf balls I could stuff down the front of my suit. Needless to say, I wish I had come here first. To sum it up, Lions Pond: NO! Kiwani's Pond: Yes. Again, they're small, and no air nearby, but not too bad for south central WI.

Sounds like you got one good dive in! yep the lakes inland seem to be a bit bad this time of year, a dive bud and me hit lake michigan and with the light south winds she was flat most of the day!so we did some dives and vis was good 15'+ not bad and near shore tons& tons of small schools of bait fish it was like the ocean, well allmost, our dive flag was used by several jetskis to race around, so we called the dive.
It was a fun day the first time I dove with a steel tank,Now i will buy one!

Well, this weekend should be fun. A frind of mine lives right on the point where Green Bay meets Sturgeon Bay (Sherwood Point). He mentioned a spot where he and frinds have lost numerous anchors over the years. So, this Saturday, it's diving for anchors! Who knows what I may find down there. I'm hoping for either no wind or an east wind. It should be interesting.

PS: You can't shoot the jet skiers; I checked ;)
