Hi, does anyone know of any hotels, condos etc. on Grand Cayman that allows a small dog? Also any dog friendly establishments I can bring her with me while I'm there?

How long are you planning to stay for?

I don't know if things have changed or not, but there used to be quite a process to bringing a dog in, including a quarantine period to be sure that it didn't have any diseases or other problems that could be transmitted to the island.

Unless you're planning on moving there, you'll likely find this could be more problems than it's worth.

Here is some info:

Yup ... unless you are moving to Cayman, don't even think about it. Whole process took 6 months & over 1000$ to get my dog to Cayman.

Why did it cost 1000 dollars. I looked on there website and for visitors yes it will take 6 months but the cost appears to be around 400 dollars(includes fees airfare and tests)?

...I hear Vietnam is an up and coming dive destination...and very 'dog friendly' too.

Approx costs:

Air : 150$
Import permit & fees : 50$
Agriculture Canada fees/paper work: 50$
Crate: 250$
Shots & meds/microchip: +-250$
Blood tests required, FedEx & Dry ice : +-300$
Long distance calls to Cayman agriculture: Many
Number of headaches: Too many to count!
Walking my Husky on Seven mile beach : Priceless.
