Whats up SB, I just received my new to me BP/W and was looking to mount the plate to the wing but it covers up the dump valve either by a little or a lot depending on the mounting hole I use. So am I suppose to have it this way, pull the dump string thru the bottom hole, or ? New to all of this so learning day by day. Thanks in advance.

When it has air/gas in it and its on your back it will come away from the plate. If it is against the plate then chances are it isn't the dump to use!

Don't put the pull cord through the plate, when the wing lifts you the dump valve will move away from the plate and then may be activated...

No, the string should not be going through any hole.
As the other poster said, when you are in a trim position and the wing has air in it, the wing will pull away from the plate, and the dump valve will be accessible.

The lower dump OPV cage doesn't quite clear the plate. This is normal, they are made this way. It doesn't cause any problems but I did wonder why it wasn't measured better (?).

Just to clarify I've seen two Hollis rigs where the OPV hits the plate so maybe not all.

The opv is located there because its easier to reach when the wing has air in it. Picture the wing wrapping upwards around the tank, then picture yourself reaching back to find the opv. If it were on the other side of the wing, next to the tank, you'd have to hunt around for it.

Ok, once I receive the rest of my goodies from Dive gear express (taking forever with shipping). I will mount it up an see what it looks like, thanks for the information guys.

What size wing is that? I have a Hollis bp/w and I've never had a problem with the dump valve (although I'm not sure it was that close the plate.) But along with everyone else in this thread, you should be fine.

Looks like its the wrong way? The "depth" in the middle should go away from your back towards the tank/tanks. I may be wrong.. But looks like that on the pictures.

The "depth" of backplate on the picture is correct.
