Question regarding the FIT of Henderson Hyperstretch 3mm suits:
I am 5'1" tall.
I fit the Henderson hyperstretch size 6 pretty well, except in the LENGTH (3" too long in the arms and legs)

The size 4 is not TOO hard to put on, but my breathing feels slightly constricted in it. It does, however fit the length perfectly. Is it OK to not be able to breath in the suit while it's DRY and I'm standing in the store?

Is it true that it will stretch out when wet, and as it is worn over time?

I know I can have Henderson hem up the size 6, but if anyone thinks this material really stretches out when WET, then the size 4 should be fine.

try instead the EVERFLEX from scubapro ,they,re of better quality.peace ;)

I actually just picked one up yesterday. I am a stock Medium for men. My old seaquest suit finally had one to many holes in it...got sick of patching it once a week.
tried it on in the shop fit fine...going to be diving it this weekend. will let you know how it fairs.

Thanks for the reply, but my LDS (who is BOTH a ScubaPro and and a Henderson dealer) said to avoid the ScubaPro suits...he's had too many problems w/ their quality in the past.

I'm going to follow his advice on purchasing a Henderson, but just wanted to know from someone who's worn the hyperstretch fabric, if they STRETCH a little when wet, so that the slight tightness in the diveshop will disappear when in the water.

I'm not speaking directly to the Henderson, but in my experience with wetsuits in general, they're only slightly more comfortable in the water. If you feel your breathing is constricted, you want a better fit IMHO.

Jane, i'm exactly opposite of you, I'm 6'11" and weigh about 210. So i'm really slim and tall. I'm actually a XXLT (T = Tall). In a stock XXL, it fits me about right in the waist and stuff, but my arms/legs are 3 inches too short.

I could have gotten by with it if I really wanted to. But to be happy I chose to get the Hyperstretch XXL with a custom 3 inches added to the arms and legs. I will be tryingi t on for the first time this evening but I'm sure it will fit great. It didn't cost me that much extra either and the extra it was was well worth it for me. :)

3 mm suit should not make you feel constricted

In my experience, 3mm suits (any make) are quite comfortable if fit properly. 7 mm - that's another story...

Thanks, all. I didn't THINK I was supposed to feel squeezed in ANYTHING that's called hyperstretch.

Although my very nice LDS owner :07: has said I can go ahead and take the size 4 to my OW cert this weekend, and if it feels too small in the water, I can return it for the custom-shortened size 6, which he'll order from Henderson. Of course that won't help me be comfortable in the water for my OW cert!!! (What a dilemma)

He's still mildly pushing for me to take & try the 4. He thought the size 6 loooked big on me under the arms, too. I have no idea how these things are supposed to fit, but I do know a snug fit is good and baggy/long is bad. :06:

I'm gonna go tomorrow night and try both the 4 & the 6 on again, when I'm not as tired as I was the other day (after trying on a zillion suits).
