Cathy Church is reporting that there is a TTL option for that the Olympus SP 350 that one can use with a Sea&Sea strobe with a sync cord--no need for a fiber optic cable setup. However, they told me today that this wasn't an option for the Canson S80 because it doesn't have a "hot Shoe thread". Any idea what they are talking about?

A TTL-capable camera controls the light output of a compatible external flash unit. The flash on the S80 fires an external strobe producing a fixed amount of light. There is no hot shoe on the S80.
