As far as weights go I like it soft. I also use a weight intergrated BC, but I put some grommets in the top of the pouches. Have a little strap I use to clip them together and then I just carry them like a belt over my shoulder. I don't worry about them drying, I just dump the pouches out on the garage floor when I get home.
Now as far as other thing I like it ....:censor:

HARD.... Integrated weight ALL the way!!

In my limited weight belt diving experience... I found the hard weights uncomfortable on my hips & lower back and somewhat ackward... especially if I had to walk any great distance over odd terrain!! (some of our shore dives in the Victoria area should be more aptly labelled as Cross-Country/Mountaineering Dives)!!

As for for soft... I found the SeaSoft weight shifted a bit too much... which threw off my trim during the dive.

That's just my 2cents... Canadian.. :)

I use The DUI harness with 5LB soft on each side, with 95CF
steel tank. The pouches make it easy to add 5 more LB each
side when I switch to 80CF aluminum tank or take 3LB off left side when I sling my 19CF pony.
I went with the harness because a belt ends up around my
knees, (42-38-38)
