What did U think I meant???

Even though I have a weight integrated BC I find myself attached to a weight belt. I just feel more secure. I have a soft weight belt with soft weights - not real crazy about it as it really takes forever to dry.

Just wonder your preference as far as weight belts are concerned - Soft or Hard?

..in the integrated BC. The BC is so comfortable I don't think it would make any difference. I like not having the feel of the hard weights on the hips. But sometimes I find myself still going to hook my thumbs into the belt - it was always a relaxing position for me.

Sea Pearls.

I use a weight integrated BC also.

When necessary for training ditch-and-don, demo's, etc., I wear a zippered weight belt and put a few pouches in the belt and wear it. Other than that, the weights are in the BC.

Weight belts can be the pouch type with soft weights or the belt strap type with hard, preferably coated weights.

Weight belts are actually bad for your lower back. Not everyone has problems, but some people do.

Integrating your weights puts the stress onto your B/C, which means your air bladders (wings or jacket style) bears the burden. Most integrated B/Cs can hold up to 30 lbs that way, so unless you need to wear more than that, you would not ever need a weight belt with an integrated B/C.

Its your choice. Try it both ways and see how it feels.

The weight belt is pretty much an anachronism, except for technical divers, who normally do wear weight belts, but with only 10 to 12 lbs on them.

BOTH!

I use both hard and soft weights, sometimes a lot of weight as I do commercial diving as well as rec.

When I was diving in 1/4" farmer john wetsuit there was no comfort problem with hard weights. With a 1 mill jump suit there is less padding.:D

If I have a choice, I use soft weights in my neoprene soft pocket weight belt. If I am diving with another operator (dive trip), I use hard weights in the soft belt and it is not as bad as a "standard" weight belt.

MY TWO CENTS IS WORTH 1 PENNY BUT HERE IT IS
DIVE STEEL TANKS HERE IS SOUTH FLORIDA
WITH A 3 MILL SUIT DONT NEED ANY WEIGHTS....

This was the funniest poll I have ever seen.

Soft is my preference.
