I wouldn't say that safety is an issue with Vern's boat. It is certainly worth giving him a call from thw airport when you arrive, on either 33462600 or 99108040, just to see what your options are. You may even get to Utila Saturday night that way.

Thanks - maybe best to play it by ear with weather ;-).

How long is the trip from Roatan to Utilia direct with Vern.
 
Last time I sailed with him, it was at least 3 hours. The boat is a good sized cat and can be a comfortable ride, also, on one of my sailings no one was is a rush so we puttered off Utila for while looking for whale sharks... wear sunscreen!
