I have seen 2 weeks ago PADI divers diving autonomous in a commercial structure in Brittanny.

So do not listen to Tomek (at least not always).

But there could be some structures (more often associative structures, but it could happen to commercial ones too) where the interpretation of french law is very restrictive (they just forgot to read a paragraph...). It is possible that Tomek had a bad experience of this kind.
If it happens to you, look for another one!

Yes, there are a few, very few discriminating white sharks that prefer french food.
