I don't recall ever dreaming about diving while sleeping but I spend a significant amount of time DAY dreaming about diving when I am awake. My non diving friends and coworkers are getting sick of listening to me talk about it.

Are you currently in the process of buying stuff or just in training??? Maybe you have issues about your gear? Just trying to analyse.

The only dreams i have had about diving are all nice trips underwater, reliving what i dove recently or in the more distant past or about what trips are coming up, imagining. Some are more like daydreams as i just lay in bed, those are usually directly after diving all day - i relive the dives, close my eyes and i am there again floating along, some are actual dreams - however i wouldnt call them wet dreams ;)

I am newly certified OW. I own all my own gear and love it all (see gallary "proud papa"). I have been meaning for weeks to go practice bouyancy control at my LDS's pool, as I have an upcoming trip to Cabo for some diving. Have read some threads on river diving, sounds like fun. I used to snorkel for hours at a time in a river as a kid (& young adult).
But lately have been having many dreams about diving. I know dreams can be controled so the next one I will have some good dives, not just having problems getting ready.

Same here! Although I also daydream about diving in the Caymans, Cozumel, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Australia............................................................................................... ooopps better get back to my research project :D

Hey Optik, I also dream a lot about diving and like you, I don't need anything to breath underwater.... how cool are those dreams.

Lucky me, because a lot of my other dreams usually involve floating in the air while being able to control direction and speed seemingly effortless.

Obsessions, obsessions :crafty:

I dream of diving a lot, especially lately.

I dream of scuba but not of diving. Ususally I'll end up swimming in the water somewhere strange (like an underwater city or an open field that is somehow underwater but not?!?) If I'm underwater then I usually "discover" that I have a reg in my mouth. It is not uncommon at some point for my reg to disappear. I start needing to breath....need to breath...HAVE to breath. At that point I "breath around" the water. Somehow I inhale air around the water molecules. Like breathing with a bit of water in your reg but on a much finer scale. After that I swim around like I'm underwater but I breath like I'm on land. Most of the time I'm looking for something.

I almost never dream that I'm scuba diving in a location in a realistic scuba location. I'm almost always in a "fantastic" location.

Well the crazy part is that I can tell I am underwater and that I am not suppose to breath, and when I run out of breath I inhale and well that’s when I come to the realization that I can breathe underwater, kewl. I have always wanted to have a flying dream, the only ones I have about that though are the ones where I fall off something, and I don’t like those too much.

Anyone ever had scuba nightmares? I have, I dreamed I forgot to change the O2 on my computer setting and that I went into convulsions, that really sucked.

Just currious after the dream I had last night about diving.
It was kind of funny. I went to my LDS (in the dream) to do some bouyancy control and the instructor said why dive in the pool? You can come over to my house on the river and do some diving there.
Anyway the whole dream was about not having my own gear and trying to gear up from this and that and always missing something. When I finally thought I was all geared up, I didn't have my first stage reg. Talk about a frustrating dream.

Dude, there's something wrong with you. Sure, I dream about diving, but there's always hot mermaids involved.

My only scuba nightmare (and d*&^ it) has been that I go blind while diving and realize that I will never again be able to see the life in the oceans anymore. Talk about sucky luck!!!

Hope you get the flying dream one day.... almost as good a being able to breath underwater without any 'aids'
