I've found a nice looking DIN Zeagle Tech 50D for a pretty good price, and was thinking of grabbing it as a backup. Does this reg use modern Apeks kits, or am I S.O.L. if I need service parts?

The other option is to trade it in for a current gen Zeagle, if the price I pay for it makes sense compared to the discount off a new one.

Same as Apeks. I have a couple I bought for my gal. It is the same as an Apeks TX50/DST. Anything around $150 for an as new unit is good. I picked up two off ebay for around $150 and neither had ever been used before.

The Tech50D is still a preferred reg by many tech divers and rec divers included. I call them a best kept secret.

Rebuild kits can be had pretty cheap from your favorite tech diving shop. Same goes for the diaphragms.

Use the AZ003 for the first stage and the AZ004 for the second stage. The first stage kit is sorta pricey, but the second stage is reasonable. DO NOT try to use a new Zeagle kit in this reg. They may look about the same but their repair kits are not interchangeable. Look for a grey diaphragm in the proper first stage kit for this reg.

This is one of the best regs out there. I have one and wouldn't trade it for the world.

I had my apek rebranded flathead VI rebuilt by a apeks LDS. I was thinkin about doing the upgrade program but I just bought this reg new 2 years ago. It costs a little more because of no free parts, but I am fine with that, its still cheaper than buying a new reg right now, even with the attractive offer zeagle has right now. If I had a reg that was well worn, I would think about it. But not now.
