I am thinking about doing a DMT cert but I have a couple of questions:

Is it a pre-requisite to the DMT course that you be an EMT-B?
If not, is it worth being a DMT without an EMT cert if possible?
Does this vary by region?
Is a DMT cert globally recognised/transferable?
What would be the best value/most expedient way of obtaining this cert an roughly how much would I be looking at shelling out?

I am a British instructor with an American partner working in Fiji so US, UK and Aus are all viable options for me...

Any info would be a great help

You do have to be at a minimum an EMT-Basic to apply to become a DMT. The hard part will be fining the training in your area, so you will have to look around. The DMT certification is slowly gaining recognition around the world as universal standards are being created.

I had seen that site already - very helpful.

My issue is not location though - doing an O2 provider course is hard enough in Fiji so it certainly wouldn't be here... As I said I am in a position to do it in either UK, US or Aus... my question is which country, if any, would be 'better' and in what way?

Well I imagine it will all come down to personal choice as far as location. I am afraid I am not sure what you mean by "better." As I understand it, any of them that are officially recognized will be fine as far as a job resume. Roatan would definitely be a nice spot to take a class. On the other hand, there is also a facility on Catalina Island that gives this course as well.
