Hi, Toothdoc here. I'm not an MD so no medical advice. However, have your tried pre dive clearing?

Just before diving, do a clearing manoever. Both ears should clear. If they do, then just before you
jump, clear one more time. It can help on the initial descent. If they don't clear, you may have a problem.

If your ears get plugged on ascent, later on this won't be any good.

IMHO, don't dive with blood behind the eardrum--this ear may not clear and you're either gonna perforate your eardrum
and you haven't experienced vertigo until you've experienced this, or you can perforate the oval or round windows to the inner ear--and again you will have a marvelous experience with vertigo plus you can lose some of your hearing.
